What's Happening Now July 2010
July 26 from Morris:

Hi, JanBee: # 28806 here. I read the obituaries every day in
the Temple paper. Today (July 26th) there is an article and 2
photos of Royce Boren, and a tribute to his 52 years of
service to BISD, as teacher to trustee. A very nice tribute!

I've been looking for my class picture for several weeks,
and emailed Janean, asking if she knew anything about that
status. She forwarded my email to BarbaraBB, who arranged
the photogs, and Barbara responded that the picture was
"in the mail". I look forward to receiving it, whenever it
arrives.

Since I Mapquested your new house some weeks ago, my
"byline" on my home page on Yahoo is Stanardsville, and it
gives me the temperature range for each day. It must really
be hot there - I hope you successfully learned to operate
the air conditioning controls!

We are on "death watch" here - Mother (89) and her
brother-in-law (90) are both in very bad shape. He and
Mother's sister live in Shreveport (202 miles from here) and
it is possible we will have 2 funerals in a short period of
time. Our favorite Pastor has agreed to do Mother's funeral,
but is only available on Tuesday or Thursday. I will leave for
CO within a month of the funeral, then back to the family
farm near Harrell's place for the Winter. Have fun unpacking
and setting up! Geezer
July 27 from Barbara:
There have been concerns about not having received the class
photo.....Wish someone had said something sooner!! They were to
have been mailed out about 3 weeks ago. When I asked Sherlyn....lady
responsible for the pictures ...she said she would check with the
person who had helped her & it was up to that person to get them in
the mail. OOPS....never got in the mail. She & I are terrible sorry for
the ball being dropped! They are going out today. Please let anyone
who asks know as I don't have that many email addresses to send out
a mass mailing. Again, sorry for the delay but they are on the way!!!

July 26 from Gary:

If you have begun thinking outside the
box again, try this poem.
It was originally composed as a song for a
play called Psyco-ed.

Yesterday upon the stair
I met a man who wasn’t there
He wasn’t there again today
Oh, how I wish he’d go away!
When I came home last night at three
The man was waiting there for me
But when I looked around the hall
I couldn’t see him there at all!
Go away, go away, don’t you come back
any more!
Go away, go away, and please don’t slam
the door!
Last night I saw upon the stair
A little man who wasn’t there
He wasn’t there again today
Oh, how I wish he’d go away!

"Antigonish" (1899)

Jan's response: I'm still not thinking
outside the box. We have a whole
houseful of them---in every room but the
bathrooms. Fortunately, there's a nice
attic awaiting some of them.

I'll bet it's quite beneficial for exercising
the brain to move. Y'all should try it every
few years! I hope we don't have to move
again anytime soon...
July 27 from Janean:
So glad to hear from you, and that you are happy...though
very busy and occupied with sorting and unpacking.  Glad
you are pleased with your move.  That's a good feeling.

OK, 2 1/2 hrs away from where you used to live...hum.  That's
pretty far, but I know you want to maintain friendships.  How
are your puppas taking to the new location?

I bet your house will sell quickly if it's in a good location, and
sounds like that is definitely the case.  What are the
"drawbacks" to the house?  We were so fortunate when we
moved...our house sold in a weekend for over-asking price!
Will could not have handled the stress of 2 houses for
long...much less 3!  Ha!!  You guys were fortunate to have
the lake house for initial reprieve!

I'm sure you got many, many bday wishes and this bday will
be remembered as the year of the move! ;)

We had a great week at Lake LBJ last week!  I can send pics...

BTW, how did you happen to connect with the Machalek's?
You guys are full of energy to be making that trip at this time!

Well, glad you have your computer back and in at least
semi-business again! ;)  I couldn't go long w/o my computer!

We are still getting together once a month for lunch...such
fun.  luv, j
P.S.  We are unbelievably getting rain this
week...uncharacteristically cool!!
July 14 from Johnny W:

Well the thirteenth came and went
and I remembered your birthday
this morning.  I do hope you had a
great day and didn't spend the
whole day decorating your new
house.  But if that's what you
wanted to do, I guess that's O K
too.  I do hope you had a pleasant
day whatever you did.
Happy Birthday
Johnny

July 23 from Judy PS:

Jan- It was so nice to get your
email.  Strange thing, I had just e
mailed you and the mailer-demon
sent it back....they were crossing
paths out there in the electronic
world!  I sent it to one of your e
mails, must have been the old
one....need to clean up that
address book!   I check the web
site everyday just waiting for you
to be online again!  We missed
YOU!  Glad to hear you are getting
settled some.  Moving is hard work
and I am not sure if I could do that
anytime soon again....Sounds like
you had a great visit with Milton -
small world we have for sure.  Let
us hear from you again when you
get time....judy
July 23 from Linda M:

I am glad to hear from you and have been thinking
about you a lot, wondering whether you have
finished unpacking.  Apparently you have been
working diligently but still have a bit left to do.

Enjoyed the web site updates!

It was interesting to hear about Milton & his
family.  Believe it or not, I have actually thought
about him a few times these past few (!!??) years
wondering what he had done since high school –
he was such a smart fellow, I knew he had
probably done many interesting things and so he
has proved to have done.

Have faith – the unpacking will finally end and you
can take a bit of time to sit down and DO NOTHING
for at least a few hours if you wish.

Hugs,
Linda
