"Why, that was The Lone Ranger!"
It's true that this show had its faults,
according to the wisdom we have attained
in our advanced years, but back in the
days of our innocence, it was just great.
It's said that the man who played Tonto did
a lot to improve things for Native
American actors. He and the actor who
played TLR made TV commercials in the
mid-1960s advertising Aqua Velva
aftershave lotion. A particularly charming
one focused solely on TLR's mask, which
hung on a peg outside the shower, and all
viewers heard were their voices
discussing the merits of Aqua Velva.
