October 8, 2007: Yes, just like in this 1985 photo from our class
reunion, I'll bet Ken looked surprised to get a phone call from me!
Alerted a few days ago by Buddy that Ken had been in the
hospital, I gave him a call at home. He said he had a staph
infection and will be laid up for another month, poor guy.
So I took advantage of him when he was down, and interviewed
him with our questionnaire. Ken was born at Scott and White
Hospital one November 20. After graduation, he attended
business school in Austin, then went to work as a printer for
various commercial businesses around the city. Later, he got a
job printing for the State, and retired with 19 years' service. He
now has a small farm with both cattle and hay at The Grove, a
small town between Temple and Gatesville on Rt. 36.
Ken enlisted in the U.S. Army and served at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia,
and Ft. Polk, Louisiana.
He was also married, and has three boys and two
step-grandchildren.
He enjoys getting together at Happy Hour with some other retired
buddies, and watching TV when football or car racing is on.
The only person he remembers seeing from our class lately has
been Beerwinkle. (Who could forget seeing Beerwinkle, right?)
Let's see if we can get him to attend our 50th Class Reunion.
July, 1985: Ken at our class reunion. He'll try to send a more current photo when he is able.
